Town of Opatija

 

Opatia is the oldest tourist town in this part of the Europe. Situated 12 km west of Rijeka, on the shore of the Mt. Ucka eastern slope, it has a mild climate and rich vegetation collected from all over the world. It was build for and became favored vacation location of Austroungaric Czar Franc Josef.
